“What football taught me”. Under this title, the sports journalist Pedro Morata has conducted a series of interviews with relevant figures from national and international football. The conversations with the protagonists can be heard in Sonora (audio streaming service that offers original and exclusive content).
Two of the chapters of “What football taught me” are dedicated to Marcelino García Toral. In “Marcelino, bread and football”, Pedro intends to go beyond the usual interview format. He wants to discover the person who is beyond the Asturian coach with his strengths and weaknesses.
Marcelino’s successful time at Valencia CF (2017-2019) occupies an important part of the conversation. A journey marked by the Copa del Rey title achieved against FC Barcelona -and by two consecutive qualifications for the UEFA Champions League-, but which ended abruptly.
