The best way to make the most of the summer

The campus 'PromiseSoccer by Marcelino' was presented at the Villaviciosa Town Hall. It will take place from 16 to 29 July with 160 footballers, divided into two shifts.

Villaviciosa will host, from the 16th to the 29th of July, the ‘PromiseSoccer by Marcelino’ training camp. The event was presented at the Villaviciosa Town Hall, with the well-known coach in attendance.

Alongside him were, among others, Alejandro Vega, mayor of Villaviciosa, and Juan Lobato (CD Lealtad), and Samuel Fernandez, coordinator of the campus. “We want to go a step further in the efficiency of the campus and to be able to offer the footballers ideas that will be useful for their future,” said Marcelino García Toral, who is happy that his homeland is hosting this beautiful initiative.

In 2022, half of the participants were from the youth ranks of first and second division clubs. An example of this is Pablo Barrios, who has already earned a place in the Atlético de Madrid first team.

Participants from 8 to 18 years old

In the campus there will be two shifts (of one week and with 80 footballers in each one). The municipal sports facilities of Les Caleyes and Amandi – the venues for the second year – will host 160 promising young men between the ages of 8 and 18. As it will take place in the second half of July, it will serve as preparation for the pre-season that the players will undertake in August with their respective clubs.

“It will help to promote Villaviciosa as a tourist destination linked to sport,” said Alejandro Vega, the mayor. Youngsters from all regions of Spain will take part, and members of the coaching staff of Marcelino and CD Lealtad will be involved in its development.
