The time has come to bring a beautiful chapter to a close. It has been a carefully considered decision, taken calmly and with the honesty that defines our journey.
We returned at a difficult moment and now we leave with the satisfaction of a job well done and the pride of having restored Villarreal CF to where it belongs — among the best. We have been happy during these two spells. Seven seasons at a club that has treated us with affection and respect.
Special thanks to President Fernando Roig and CEO Fernando Roig Negueroles for placing their trust in us, and also to the unforgettable José Manuel Llaneza, who, although no longer with us, always showed us his support, respect and affection.

We would also like to thank all the club’s staff, who gave us their constant support and trust, allowing us to enjoy working together every day.
We want to highlight the affection and respect of the fans, who showed us their unconditional support.
A special chapter of thanks goes to the players, represented by their captains. We value their individual and collective effort, which allowed us to achieve, for the first time in the club’s history, qualification for the Champions League in two consecutive seasons. It has been worth sharing this journey with each and every one of them, feeling their commitment and respect. As people and as athletes, they have shown us professionalism, dedication and trust. Beyond the results, we take with us the human group we have built.
I would like to highlight the excellent work of my colleagues on the coaching staff. Their daily commitment, professionalism and ability have been key. It has been a privilege to share this path with them. Thank you for your loyalty, support and dedication.
