The second edition of the ‘Jornadas de Actualización y Reciclaje para Entrenadores’ -organised by the Principality’s Football Federation- had an excellent line-up. Marcelino García Toral was there with his presentation ‘Offensive and Defensive Organisation in different attacking and pressing situations’. The other protagonists were Iraia Iturregi Sustatxa (ex-coach of Athletic Club Femenino) and Carlos García Conde (general secretary of the Royal Football Federation of the Principality of Asturias).
The conference was attended by 450 coaches (almost a quarter of the coaches in the region). Marcelino gave his presentation at the Roces Federative Fields, with the collaboration of the Asturian U-16 national team. The Careñes coach acknowledged that it was the first time he had given a presentation on the pitch and was pleased to see the number of coaches in the stands.
Also, taking advantage of the event, Marcelino had the opportunity to chat for a while with Iraia Iturregi. He met her at Lezama (as coaches of the men’s and women’s Athletic respectively) and they have had a good relationship ever since.
