“As a favourite son of Villaviciosa, to receive the King and Queen of Asturias is a great honour”. This is how Marcelino García Toral expressed himself, present in the crowd that went to meet the King and Queen of Spain, Felipe and Letizia, on their visit to Peón (Pion in Asturian). This parish, together with Arroes and Candanal (all belonging to the council of Villaviciosa), has received an important award: the Exemplary Village of Asturias 2023 Award.
“This is a very significant event for me”, said the technician, whose work makes it difficult for him to attend this type of event: “This time it was the right time for me and I came”.
