Marcelino García Toral has been named LaLiga Coach of the 2025–26 Season at the Coach Experience Summit Awards 2026, in recognition of the outstanding campaign he led as head coach of Villarreal CF.
The award is another acknowledgement of a historic season in which the Asturian coach once again established the Yellow Submarine among Spain’s and Europe’s elite. Under Marcelino’s leadership, Villarreal secured back-to-back UEFA Champions League qualifications for the first time in the club’s history.
Beyond the achievement of qualifying for Europe’s premier competition, Villarreal also recorded some of the finest numbers in its history. The team set new club records for points, victories and goals, enjoyed the best start to a league season in its history, and completed a campaign defined by consistency, competitiveness and the continued growth of a long-term sporting project.
