Marcelino, named Coach of the Year at the Super Deporte Awards

The Asturian coach continues to see his work recognised.

Marcelino García Toral has been honoured as Coach of the Year by Super Deporte, one of the most prestigious sports awards in the Valencian Community. The Asturian coach received the accolade in recognition of having once again led Villarreal CF to qualification for the current edition of the UEFA Champions League, one of the club’s major objectives in recent seasons.

This award highlights the importance of the work carried out by Marcelino since his return to the Yellow Submarine. Under his leadership, the team has regained the solidity, competitiveness and ambition that have long defined his projects, securing Villarreal’s place among the elite of Spanish and European football.

The recognition also comes during a particularly significant period in Marcelino’s career at the club. In recent months, he has become the manager with the most matches in Villarreal CF’s history, the coach with the most victories, and was also named LaLiga’s Coach of the Month for November, reflecting the outstanding form shown by the team.

Qualification for the Champions League represents not only a major sporting achievement, but also the continuity of a project built on hard work, coherence and ambition. Marcelino accepted the award with gratitude and with the same commitment that has always defined his career: to continue working so that Villarreal CF keeps growing and competing at the highest level.
