This great victory in such a particular match confirmed the excellent form of Marcelino’s Athletic. They are placed on the table just two points behind European spots. The Rojiblancos have added an offensive punch to the defensive solidity they had been bragging about for a long time (they are the third team with the fewest goals conceded in LaLiga).

To all this, we must add a draw (1-1) in the first leg of the La Copa del Rey semifinals. The result against Valencia leaves the tie open for the second leg at Mestalla.
